Plant Details
This showy plant is native to central and south Florida. It will flower periodically throughout the year producing reddish-orange flowers. It prefers full sun and well drained soil. It is drought tolerant once established. It is cold tolerant down to the mid 20's depending on where it is located. If it does sustain cold damage it will grow back the following spring. Firebush is an excellent addition to butterfly gardens. It will also attract hummingbirds. The dwarf variety will grow to 3'-5' in height depending upon conditions.
