Nicaraguan stone idols, hand chiseled from volcanic stone similar in character to pumice. Idols are approximately 40" tall and weigh about 200 pounds. Idols are based on ancient pre-columbian idols found on Zapatera Island in Lake Nicaragua. These idols readily grow moss and will change color as they absorb or release water. There are many different designs featuring different head dresses, facial expressions and arm positions.
